| Archaeology in Oxford - cameraThe only other requirement for the expedition was a first class camera, and this was ordered from the firm of J H Dalmeyer. This magnificent camera is now in the care of the Museum of the History of Science in Oxford. It is made of mahogany and brass, and is a superb example of a specialist archaeological camera. It has a rising and vertical swing lens panel, reflex viewfinder on a baseboard, ball-bearing levelling device with metal plumb line, and a full selection of excellent lenses. It is far cry from today's pocket cameras, but a first class scientific instrument.
